Brother Knights and Friends of Council 3956 –
Update from DGK Bill Robert:
Dear Knights,Our Grand Knight, Bob LaForest, has confirmed that our next meeting will be Wednesday, March 13th. Donut Sunday is March 24. Please try to attend this upcoming meeting.Sincerely,Deputy Grand KnightBill Robert
My Brother Knights,
VIVAT JESUS! This is just a reminder that there is a Regular Business Meeting on Wednesday, April 4th starting at 7PM in the St. Pius X Social Hall.
We will be opening nominations for Council Officers at that time. If you are interested in helping our Council by becoming an Officer, please attend this meeting. If you would like to know more about a specific position, feel free to attend the meeting or email me (raybilyk(at)kofc3956.org). If you cannot attend the meeting, but are interested in running for a position, please email me as well. (A great PDF pamphlet with descriptions of the Officers and their responsibilities can be found HERE.) After tonight, nominations will be tabled until the May 2nd Regular Business Meeting, where we will ask for nominations once more, close nominations and elect Officers.
A VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER… There are at least 2 Officers (Deputy Grand Knight Dave Sajdak and myself) that will NOT be running for those offices again! We REALLY NEED Brother Knights to step up and run for offices this year. I am serious when I say this: If I can do it, you can also!
NOTE: You must be a 3rd Degree member by June 30th in order to become an Officer. (Don’t worry… there are still 2nd and 3rd Degree Initiations being held before then, including one we are hosting on Sunday, June 24th.)
We will also be discussing our Coffee & Donuts/Membership Drive on Sunday, April 8th, our Charity Family Breakfast and Tootsie Roll Drive on Sunday, April 15th and other upcoming events.
Hope to see you all there! God Bless!

This weekend after all of our Masses, we will solicit donations as part of the Michigan Knights of Columbus ‘MI Drive’ (more commonly known as the Tootsie Roll Drive). We need the help of every member to make this a success!
Along those lines, we are holding our last Charity Family Breakfast of the season this Sunday, April 23rd with the proceeds also going toward this drive! We hope that all of our friends and supporters will come and enjoy a delicious breakfast, all for just a small free-will offering. (We need the help of every member to make this a success as well.)
The charities we will support this year include:
- St. Louis Center
- Special Olympics Michigan – Area 23 (Wayne)
- The Arc Downriver
- Angel’s Place
- St. Francis on the Lake
- Archdiocese of Detroit (for Intellectually/Developmentally Impaired)
With your help, we can help others! Hope to see you all this weekend! God bless!
Just a reminder that breakfast was cancelled today. It has been rescheduled for NEXT SUNDAY! God bless!
Due to the power outage still affecting St. Pius X Parish, we must cancel our Charity Family Breakfast scheduled for Sunday, March 12th. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and hope you will support our next breakfast on Sunday, April 16th.
VIVAT JESUS! This is just a reminder that due to our Regular Meeting night being on Ash Wednesday, our Regular Business Meeting has been moved to Wednesday, March 8th starting at 7PM in the St. Pius X Social Hall.
We have a lot of activities coming up (Charity Family Breakfast, Tootsie Roll Drive for Mentally Impaired Citizens, etc.), so I hope that you can join us!
If you can’t join us, consider signing up early for the Charity Family Breakfast:

I’m attaching a copy of the flyer for the Tootsie Roll Drive for Mentally Impaired Citizens. Please print and hang it up at locations where we can get some visibility. We’re also looking for volunteers. Please considering helping us break our record from last year!
Hope to see you all at our Business Meeting on Wednesday, March 8th (not March 1st)! God Bless!

On Sunday, November 13, 2016, Council 3956 will once again hit the grills and ovens to make a delicious FAMILY BREAKFAST. This month’s recipients are St. Vincent dePaul and the Downriver Food Pantry. Both of these charities need help to feed our Downriver families during this holiday season.
Come by after Mass to the St. Pius Social Hall and join us for eggs, pancakes, sausage, fruit, juice, coffee and/or tea. It’s a free-will donation, so bring the whole family. Even if you can’t afford to pay anything, stop on by… we have you covered!
We will also have tickets for sale for our 4th Annual CHRISTmas Concert featuring the Michigan Catholic Choir for only $10 each!
For my Brother Knights, we can use your help! We still need more volunteers for the breakfast. Please click on the link below and sign up:
(If you have time for two spots, please feel free to do so.)
